Your stories of having premature babies
Premature birth is a common and serious health problem that affects families up and down the UK. Over the past year, families have been kind enough to share their stories with us to help raise awareness of premature birth.

My name is Lucy and heres my story. I lost my first baby at 10 weeks old. Then I was diagnosed with Good Pastures Syndrome (end stage kidney failure) in january 04, required dialysis till i could have a kidney transplant. I had my son Ethan whilst on dialysis and to keep us both alive so i had to be dialysed 6 times a week for about 2 and a half months. I had him due to complications at 28 weeks, 1lb 13oz born, length the size of a biro pen. He was in hospital for 4 months in total, he required oxygen for 2 years at home but now he has been taken off all medication and has been discharged from the hospital. We expierenced quite a few scbu`s in our time and there all just as hard working as each other. Ethan is 3 now and he is healthy and gorgeous. thankyou for reading my story and stay positive
